The PH Group was established in 2006 by founding member firm PH Attorneys and has since evolved to become the Largest Legal Network in South Africa and the only network of its kind that caters exclusively to the needs of South African law firms.

The PH Group was established in response to an identified need of small and medium-sized law firms to form part of a larger network and so gain access to shared resources, expertise and economies of scale.

To ensure member firms aspire to the Group Standards and Values, PH Attorneys undertakes a member firm certification process every two years to review the adherence of member firms to the Group Standards. The certification process follows a comprehensive evidence-based review of each member firms’ adherence to the Group Standards.

Following such review, member firms that have excelled are recognised through the Group’s New Breed Law Firm Awards that provides recognition to top-performing member firms and acknowledges their progress to becoming New Breed Law Firms™. The awards are allocated after the completion of the bi-annual certification process and allows member firms to showcase their performance to their clients and staff. Each award is valid for two years from date of award.

The insolvency practitioners include Werner de Jager, Deborah Joubert and Stuart Tarr.  Werner has been an insolvency practitioner for over 30 years and Deborah has been an insolvency practitioner for over 20 years. Stuart Tarr is the Insolvency Department’s most recent addition, who will draw from his vast experience in litigation to take on new challenges in this department.

We are on the panels of Standard Bank, ABSA Bank, Investec Bank, First National Bank, Wesbank, Nedbank and various other commercial clients.  Our corporate recovery division has longstanding clients, specialising in service provision in agriculture.

Our insolvency practitioners are on countrywide panels of the Master of the High Court.  We take appointments in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown.

Deborah Joubert heads our Administration of Deceased Estates Division. We strongly believe in being equipped with the latest software systems in order to facilitate the administration of both insolvent and deceased estates. Our deceased estate administrative software programs enable us to expedite the winding up of deceased estates.  

Our firm has a branch in Kenton-on-Sea to render the aforesaid service to surrounding residents. 

In addition to estate planning, which includes the formation of trusts, the administration of trusts and the amendment of trust deeds, we also work closely with auditing firms in order to affect the most tax efficient estate planning in line with best tax practice.
